Africa’s future depends on its thinkers, researchers, and innovators. But too often, talented students and early-career scholars face barriers to accessing mentorship, resources, or practical research opportunities. At TIRD, we are working to change that through dedicated training, supervision, and collaboration pathways.
TIRD’s mentorship model is hands-on and transformative. We provide postgraduate supervision for Master’s and PhD students, helping them navigate topic selection, proposal development, and methodology design. Our interns and research fellows are embedded in real projects where they gain field experience, build networks, and contribute meaningfully to development goals.
One standout story is that of a young researcher from Uganda who, under TIRD’s supervision, published her first peer-reviewed paper on education equity and presented her findings at a regional conference.
Closing Thought:
We don’t just train researchers — we nurture leaders. At TIRD, the next generation is not the future of research. They are the present.
